Hello!
My name is Piper Smith (they/she) and I am a current senior at Agnes Scott College, class of 2026. I'm pursuing a self-designed degree in intersectional film studies, which combines . I am also a Digital Literacy Tutor with Agnes Scott’s Center for Digital and Visual Literacy, where I specialize in Adobe products, 3D printing, and audio/video production. I am looking to pursue a career in media or marketing in the near future, and my current focus is on learning DaVinci Resolve's coloring tools and continuing to polish my skills in video editing and graphic design through Adobe Premiere and Canva respectfully. Future goals include mastering visual effects and transitions, expanding my knowledge on color correction, and fostering my creativity towards short films and film festivals.

I am also preparing to produce a thesis film in my senior year of college, which will be submitted to both Agnes Scott's spring research conference and Atlanta-area film festivals the following autumn. I'm looking forward to working with you in the near future!
High School Experiences
I graduated from Cambridge High School in Milton, GA in May 2022, and spent much of my time in my last two years in the performing arts and Career Tech programs. While I was a student, I was part of the Audio/Video Technology and Film (AVTF) program, a GDOT-certified Career Tech & Agricultural Education (CTAE) pathway made to prepare Georgia students for the film & television industry. The program also partners with SkillsUSA & guarantees a certification with the state upon completion, which is displayed on the participant’s high school diploma. As a high school senior, I was a regular contributor to our main production, The Bridge, most often making commercials and participating in the Newswire segment, in addition to assisting other segments, and participated in each of our 22 episodes for the 2021-2022 season. This production was widely by the student body, and often beyond as well; parents viewed the program just as much as the students. Additionally, by the end of my senior year, I had achieved both the pathway completion and workplace readiness seal in the program, which are displayed on my high school diploma.

My experience in the AVTF program was an essential part of my contributions to the performing arts programs in high school. In my senior year, I was responsible for much of the concert and performance recordings for the orchestra and theatre programs, and I learned a number of copy editor skills as part of my regular volunteer work with the orchestra program. I was also able to apply my proficiencies in music and technology to create my project for a Fine Arts Diploma Seal. The project consisted of a medley of pieces that had never been adapted for string orchestra, and I spent many hours in music production software working on the final arrangement. This earned me the Fine Arts seal, which is displayed on my diploma alongside my CTAE seals.

Agnes Scott College
I began my studies at Agnes Scott in August of 2022, and I continue to apply my digital proficiencies through my campus job as a digital literacy tutor with the Center for Digital and Visual Literacy. Some notable achievements in my time at Agnes Scott include making videos about the use of the Flex Studio, Agnes Scott’s student production space, and the Creative Innovation Studio and Workroom (CISAW) space; serving as a community judge for student films submitted for Campus Movie Fest in 2022; hosting workshops on video production, video editing, post-production software and green screen use; assisting with three film festivals hosted on campus in spring 2024 and spring 2025; and being recognized on the Dean’s Honor list for four consecutive semesters.

Outside of my studies and existing campus commitments, I am a violinist in the Agnes Scott Community Orchestra, and tend to spend my free time writing, gaming, volunteering, learning new skills, and exploring the Atlanta area. I am always looking for more opportunities to learn and connect with my community and the industry I plan to enter, so if you’d like to contact me, you are welcome to shoot me an email. I will respond as soon as I can.
